Alexander J. (A.J.) Kessler has been mentored in the art of collections by Miles since 2009, when he began working at the firm as a law clerk during law school. Since graduating and joining the firm in 2011, A.J.'s practice has focused on the litigation of complex collection matters, including obtaining pre-judgment attachments, installing receivers, recovering fraudulently transferred assets, and obtaining judgments based on alter ego liability. He has also helped clients properly structure commercial and real estate transactions to avoid protracted litigation and recover what they’re entitled to.
A.J. has been a speaker on numerous occasions for the groups such as the San Diego County Bar Association and the National Business Institute, lecturing on a variety of collection issues.
A.J. is a UCLA alumni, and received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego in May 2011, where he was Vice President of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team and competed in international moot competitions in Hong Kong and Vienna.
In his spare time, A.J. is an avid photographer, pilot, certified scuba diver, skier and tennis player.
